ThIs in not leagl for venting where I live and that electrical panel needs to be accessible too. IMO the best is a recirculating hood with filters that can be cleaned .

My first thought was that someone Photoshopped the image to obtain the worst possible configuration that can be imagined, or at least a challenger to such a title. This configuration violates both the International Building Code and the National Electrical Code. There is a fire hazard here where a grease fire melting and igniting the aluminum would lead to a difficult to stop conflagration. And grease will surely build up on a corrugated duct.

Also the side cabinets may not be high enough for fire safety.

First consult the range's installation instructions to determine what has to be removed and/or replaced with respect to the cabinets.

Second, determine how the replacement duct can be routed to carry effluent to the outside.

Third, look for hoods that have enough internal room to punch a (preferably) six-inch hole on a side. This may require gutting the blower from the hood and putting an external blower on an outside wall or roof.

Steel duct is required with no corrugations.

Holy crap, everything about this is illegal/wrong!
