I've seen it done before, but if you don't make the perfect tile choice, you run the risk of having it look like bathroom tile in your kitchen.

What is your counter material? Could you use that as the backsplash too?

Do you have plans, photos of your materials.etc? Hard to suggest anything without seeing something!

Thanks @chispa I don't, yet, have pix but I am planning on using white Caesarstone for the countertops. And this one, from Florim (BuildTech) is exactly the look I'm going for.

Your question reminded me of a photo I had saved in my ideabooks a while back and went to look for it! This backsplash is a 12x24 tile from Porcelanosa.

I'd have the backsplash templated perfectly, and Wedi board laminated to the back before it ever left the shop.
