Sherry - I had the same feeling as you about Daring Deception's color. It was a fantastic performer here, but the color seemed muddy when night temps were low. I got rid of it, and then my teacher friends gave me another one for a retirement gift. I grew it for a couple of years in a pot and then gave it away the year I had to be out of state so much. Destined to See is a beauty. The grubs have attacked it several years in a row here. Light petal color with eyes seem to draw the beetles. I hope it will do better for me this year. It's one I'll always grow, if I can rehabilitate it.

I don't have many D's either. Here are mine:

Dance Again is a great one for the late season. It looks better at the end of an extra hot day that it does in the morning, as that's when you can see all the polychrome colors. This photo was taken at mid morning. The hybridizer named this Dance Again in reference to its reblooming abilities, but it has never rebloomed here.

Sherry, we still grow Destined to See but I think it needs divided. Its performance has suffered for a couple of years.

Debra, Dancing Flamingo is beautiful. I love pink daylilies with green throats. Dearest Mahogany is nice too. Is the petal color really as white as all the pictures show? Of course, I love seeing your pictures of Dearest Valentine. I can't wait to see ours this summer, now that it's been here for a year.

Dappled Dynamo's flower is really nothing to write home about, but it truly is a dynamo. It keeps putting out flowers, long after you think it should be done. It's registered as a rebloomer, but I think it's a bud builder.

As you might imagine, Bob loves Dave Chase Golden Glow. It's a bright beacon in the garden.

Deadliest Catch is a late bloomer.

Delinquent Doll was new last season. It is also a late bloomer.

Dennis Russell is one I looked for at a reasonable price for quite some time. It has not disappointed.

Dragon Master really baffles me. For several years I thought we had the wrong plant. The eye was always quite faded. Finally, this last season, it began to look like it supposed to. I don't know if it was the weather or it wasn't quite established yet. I was about ready to throw it away.

I am really getting into Jamie Gossard's small ufs. This is Dragon Pixie.

I had the same feeling about Daring Delimma, just did not care for the color, so a friend admired it and I gave it to her. Destined to see is always a beauty. Debra, I like all of yours, but especially Dancing Flamingo I think. Brilliant color on it. Nancy, I always admire your toothy daylilies, I think my favorite today is Dennis Russell.

Funny I had Daring Deception and it never made it out of the pot. Divine Design is quite attractive!

Debra all of yours are exceptional but Dancing Flamingo is my favorite today.

Hoosier Nan - The petal color on Dearest Mahogany is a near white - probably not as white as it appears in my photo or most photos on the NGA database. Of yours, Deadliest Catch and Delinquent Doll are my favorites.

Maryl, such lovely photo of Dearest Valentine, I hope to see mine bloom this coming season. It looks like Daring Deception has been a disappointment for many of us, mine will probably leave this summer.

Everyone seems to be commenting on Destined to See. The last two seasons it has been good here, but there were less consistent years. Selman made a lot of intros out of D to See, to the point of redundancy.

Last year, I picked up some of David's Bennetts and look forward to seeing them here. It is Dr. Jules Michael Vinkman. I don't like long names, especially of people.

I agree that Dennis Russell is a striking color, with the red overlay. Its plant habit is not as good as that of Glowing Quasar though.

Dankie has lovely blooms, but rather poor bud count.

Duel Zone is a later one whose bitone I find attractive.

Dragon Nation is big and quite tall, with better bud count than parent Get R Done.

Diana's Evening Gown can produce some beautiful flowers, but a lot of Waldrops don't flourish here.

Dawn of Aquarius is a striking color in the garden.

Dorothy and Toto has had uneven performance here. I don't think it is a good northern plant.

Deep Dark Secret is nice, but can sometimes be splotchy.

Dave is a big flower. So far, bud count has not impressed.

Daniel Howard Norris takes a while to establish, but is a striking color.

Dream Sequence has big striking flowers on sturdy but gawky scapes.

With climate change, Dixieland Band has done well here in the later garden.

Driven by Desire, a typical Hanson name.

Darlington County is an early pink, rather short, but whose shade i find pleasing.

David: Ding Dong Ditty looks so delicate and airy. I like it......Mantis: Daniel Howard Norris is striking. My favorite though is Dawn of Aquarius. 99% chance it would be mauve here not lavender, but it still is one I had to look up on the database. Gorgeous.................Maryl

Mantis - Daniel Howard Norris is so striking. If it were a tet rather than a dip, I would have added it to my garden long ago. I always admire your Duel Zone, and Dawn of Aquarius has such wonderful blue tones. I much prefer the look of Dragon Nation to Get R Done. As for Selman and all his Destined to See x Julie Newmar intros, when Bob finds a cross that works, he just keeps making it. He also has a bunch of pink intros from (Seedling x Spledid Touch) x Shores of Time.

Laura - The one of yours I like most is Doctor McGregor's Garden. The clump shot of Dawn of Aquarius and the group shots are really pretty too!

Kate: That snowman is so funny. I hate snow, but the fun those kids had making that snowman in the south might be worth the occasional flurry. To them it looks perfect!.........Laura: Between you and Mantis you may have pushed me over the edge on Dawn of Aquarius. It's on my short list. Now, to find the room. I grew Deliverer and it was a good daylily. I didn't care for the color so I gifted it out to someone that did. As for Dorothy and Toto, the pictures I've seen of it show the color going all over the place. Not a fan from the pictures. But it must have something in person I'm missing to get so many awards.........Maryl

Deliverer was frequently splotchy here, but when good, it commanded attention. Dawn of Aquarius would do best with some afternoon shade in your location.

Maryl - A lot of photos I see of Deliverer and its offspring have weird color - especially when grown in the South. I can understand why you didn't like it. I've found some Emmerichs just can't take our sun and am planning to sell a couple of the lavenders in the Spring. I'm hoping they go north where they will be as pretty as in her garden.

Daveo Holeman. So pretty. Too bad it is so short and poorly budded. I moved it to by itself beside the trash bin. It works.

Kate, I just snow saw the snowman! Brad, Desperate Housecats wound up blooming more than any other plant here. It is a bloom builder and went on and on and on.
