Pairing chandeliers

I am painting my two story foyer Modern Gray by Sherwin Williams and then replacing the two chandeliers that go there. I really like some of the updated traditional looks that Visual Comfort lighting has. I wouldn't mind two light fixtures, but I don't necessarily want twins or a junior like I have now. Anyone have any pairings that they particularly like? I could also cap the smaller chandelier instead and only have one, but I fear that I might miss the light on the stairs. You can barely see the smaller in this picture. The large chandelier is basically 42 wide/high and the smaller is 31 wide/high.

I would keep the two light sources, as your landing area is fairly large, or you could convert the smaller one to several recessed lights so you only need one new light. I actually think the chandelier you have now is an "updated traditional". You may just be able to change out the white glass if that's the part you don't like, or remove them and use candelabra bulbs.

I don’t have a light suggestion right now. Maybe i can try to find something later. But I will suggest going lighter with he paint? Thoughts?

HU, you may have missed it but I said in the first sentence that I am painting my foyer Modern Gray. :-) And Rachel - the chandelier is fine, it is indeed the angle of the picture. I will add another. I'm also replacing those black frames on the walls downstairs.

I think this depends upon what chandelier you select for the entry. If it is a real statement piece, I'd be inclined use recessed lighting over the landing since you wouldn't want to detract from it.

I’d look for a style you love that comes in two sizes - simple in design so two won’t be overwhelmIng.

You might use a larger chandelier in the entry and install a co- ordinating sconce (s) on the wall at the landing. For inspiration -

To clarify, by larger , I meant such as the size you have now or similar size range.
