I like white. Can’t really tell but the color you have now seems nice. I wouldn’t change the foyer color. I would consider bigger baseboards. Maybe wall molding ( not necessary at all! ) the furniture added to this space will enhance it. The gay ceiling is beautiful and should remain white again, assuming it is white. Let the beauty of the textures and detail shine without being a “color” nice space. And ready for the next lol.

@HU-187528210 Thank you. No white doesn't scare me off. I like light and bright. The next room is the dining room. Here I am looking for a pop of color above the shadow box. I was looking at Newburyport Blue, Hale Navy, SW Needlepoint Navy, Gentlemens Gray, or Van Deusen Blue.

This room is across from our Family Room which will have our Navy Blue Sofa. We will be looking to buy more seating once we move in, but I love deep blue.

Otherwise sample those blues and I’m happy to give my opinion. All those are nice colors. Just can’t say without samples. Every color looks different in every space.

So the house has been painted. I used Hale Navy in the dining room. Classic gray throughout the hallway and family room and kitchen. Smoke in the guest bedroom and Glass Slipper in the den. I have Metropolitan in our bedroom and Sea Salt in the Guest bathroom.

@HU-187528210 Here is the space. I am trying to keep the Lane Hope Chest out of the photo. I like the idea of coming in and having someplace to either remove my shoes or put something down but the chest is 45 years old. I want to refinish it in some way to update it. The hutch was in my dining room but doesn't look good in our new (home) dining room so I moved it here. Hope this helps. My style is transitional not that you can tell from this. We will be replacing the chandelier. This area has been painted BM Classic Gray and BM Simply White. Thanks!

As you walk into the foyer, to the right of the door is a few feet of wall and then an archway to the guest bedroom and guest bathroom. Plenty of wall space to decorate.

So number one. I don’t think you need the lamps there.
Two, I’d add a long pretty runner.
Definitely some art. Maybe a mirror on the console thing wall.

For-sure refinish it. The woods are fighting a bit.
What do you like better. Sanded and restained? Painted?
I know I’ve said this before but I’d consider wallpaper here. It’ll upgrade the room in a snap. But it’s not for everyone. Arts also lovely. Just a lot more personal...

Btw adding new hardware also will make a very big difference.
