half bath side hustle- tile shortage? 2 wallpapers?

This was meant to be an incidental renovation as we remove atrocious tile from half of our lower level but I'm kinda having fun with this powder room! Here's what we're starting with:

-working farm (not to be confused with "modern farmhouse" or "farmhouse" style), this LL bathroom gets used hard

-we like easy care/clean, natural materials, quality DIY projects, timeless and earthy but doesn't have to be bland.

-floor is getting torn out and replaced with 8x8 vanilla/beige honed travertine

-handmade solid walnut vanity

-light fixture, art and wallpaper stay for now, paint color ideally too

Some questions that have come up:

-We love this 8x8 honed travertine from Habitat Restore but have about one tile extra. We're considering an accent filler of some sort, or trying to match this exactly/almost exactly, with preference to match. I can hide a couple tiles under the toilet/in the corner or under the vanity if they aren't exact.

- Backsplash or no backsplash? Clearance is tight and we prefer not bumping the sink out into the room more, the new sink sits against the wall (it is unfinished on back). i could do a wipe-able wallpaper on the bottom if it's not too weird to have two, or stick on tiles. Neither are at all eco-friendly or strike me as very long lasting unfortunately. The blue is a blue-cream linen look wallpaper, decades old and in ok condition.

- The vanity will go to the right wall, so we need a thrifty countertop solution.

Bathroom now (if you click on it you see more of the photo):

What we've bought:

faucet is brushed gold

What we're considering:

i love this wallpaper! Is it too weird to have two wallpapers, above and below the trim? From what I can tell it's old-school paste wallpaper but wipeable. https://www.wayfair.com/decor-pillows/pdp/rifle-paper-co-wildwood-27-x-27-wallpaper-roll-w003387972.html?piid=1650354303 The paper above our trim is a blue and cream linen look.

Vanity will be 24" wide and 17" deep, walnut, one door + one open cabinet by wall (stacks of tp or garbage) OR two doors (no drawers or open shelving).

Construction can be traditional, frameless with full overlay doors, or floating and frameless- examples below.

These photos just show construction and style possibilities, not the actual dimensions or vanity we'll install.

Thanks! I had a whole perfect post and all the photos ready to go and Houzz froze up and deleted it all-- I forgot to add in version 2 that the wallpaper is on top and it's a blue and cream linen look. It's a dark little room!

I can take the tile in to a shop, I likely can match it darn close. So many people use travertine I thought someone here might say exactly what it is.

Ok, well if it is already a dark little room, are you sure you want to put that dark wallpaper in there? I'd be worried it will feel like a cave. Maybe you need to consider upgrading your lighting in that room.

Of the vanity choices you show, my first choice would be the first one. Looks like Dark Oak and a Craftsman type style. That reads the most "farmhouse" to me...the other two are much more modern and the middle one reads very mid century modern to me. The little I've seen of the decor in the washroom doesn't make me think MCM would match.

Would it be a LOT of work to get rid of the wallpaper?

I think if you are going with the darker coloured vanity and light floors, I'd find a paint colour that works with the flooring colour a bit more than the blue does. Maybe something like BM Seapearl (below). Or maybe you put the colour below the trim piece and white walls above if you are going to have white toilet and sink.

I do like the artwork you've got on the walls - very farm like and lovely. A very nice touch.

    Thank you.

Yeah, the tile looks a little more pinkish when laid on the floor than in natural light. Maybe I can change the bulbs in the fixture to help with that a little. It is nice and bright when the light is on, and of course the light is on when anyone is in.

It's not necessarily too much work, but too much right now. We need this bath to come together quickly so we have a sink (and time) while we rebuild our kitchen. The light fixture is mounted too low and (spoiler) everything is hung to cover flaws and holes from the previous owners- it would be a snowball. I guess I'd rather do a different tile altogether than put on the to-do list more bathroom reno right now.

The rest of our house is furnished with clean lines and hardwearing, simple furniture- a mix of primitives and something bordering subtle MCM/modern. If that makes any sense, IDK.

I wonder if the modern-ness of the vanities (2 and 3 above) can be toned down with the right hardware. The bar pulls aren't right for us aesthetically

I'm doing the wallpaper above! The sample is so pretty. It's inspired me to put a little elbow grease into the project.

The travertine tile just looks too pink once home so we'll find a beige or greige 12x24 tile that will be easy to install and maintain.

I'll repaint too, white ceiling and I can do white walls (actually off-white, but not Creamy as is there now) or I can do SW Edgecomb Gray...probably will be EG.

We'll either choose a Marmoleum remnant for the countertop or tile it, and still deciding on a possible backsplash option. it might just get paint at this point.
