They have good quality material - healthy and strong plants. They are close enough to me to drive to the nursery and it is always very organized, clean, and they have a knowledgeable and friendly staff. My only negative against them would be their prices! They tend to be high on things in my opinion. A little known fact is that if you are able to make it to the nursery to shop, the plants prices are lower than the catalog prices. When they used to have their summer sale they would get so many people showing up that the traffic had to be directed by the police!!

The selection is super; I can find everything I want in one place which reduces shipping costs. The plants are small but shipping big pots of dirt would be awfully pricey so I'm okay with small but healthy plants. The customer service is excellent. Last fall I received an order which must've traveled upside down on the UPS truck from Ohio to Virginia. I e-mailed Bluestone and a box of replacement plants arrived a week later.

I’ve ordered from them the last couple years and have been happy with the plants. They are small and expensive though. I also don’t like their coir pots. I usually order during their February half off Fridays sale if it’s something I haven’t seen locally.

I really enjoy looking through their catalog in the middle of winter lol.

I've had very good experiences with them - I have ordered mums early in the planting season, and they have always done well. I had one plant die and they replaced it promptly, no questions asked.

I also don't like the coir pots much - I will slice them open on all 4 sides and soak them thoroughly before setting them into the ground, or remove them entirely if too much would stick up above the soil.

They have mastered packing snd shipping IMHO. No plastic or peanuts! Just ingeniously folded cardboard snd the coir pots, which I appreciate.
