Hello! We just bought a home and I badly wanted to get top cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling but the builder is not providing that option for us. So I am thinking about 2 options here

1. Add backsplash above the cabinets, I chose grey hexagon backsplash and my cabinets and counter top are white. My island is also in grey color.(attached the picture of backsplash and cabinet color
2. Add the too cabinets once I move in to the home.

When I am googling I found that adding the cabinets later can get pretty expensive.

so can you please guide if doing a backsplash is good idea, if not how do you guys think it will cost me to get top cabinets(in Austin, Texas)
