Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Updating a 1960’s Brick Ranch

We’re updating a vintage 4”x4” tiled bathroom. Luckily the tile is white so we would like to work WITH it rather than ripping it out. I would like to extend the tile in the tub/shower to the ceiling.

If anyone out there has blended older tile with updated more modern tile, would you please post a photo. I would love to see how you solved this time traveling bathroom dilemma!

Unless you have extra tile from the original installation tucked away in your garage, I think it might be tough to match the white. Get some samples to see which works best with your existing tile. Keep the format the same with 4 x 4's, otherwise it will look weird if you switch sizes. Daltile or American Olean should have basic white 4 x 4 tile.
