There are a lot of different types of glass tile. Your idea for penny rounds is fine, with a couple of caveats. First, make sure the tile comes in sheets, minimum 1'X 1'....faster to install. Second, look for a white paper backing adhered to the tile....this obviates the need for laborious "back buttering" the tile with white mortar. I don't listen to what they say on most home improvement shows....the lies gag me. Don't care where you live, you cannot do a new kitchen, two baths, repaint and install hardwood floors while entirely refurnishing a home....for $32K.
