Bath Sprayer dripping

We are in the process of having the tub in our owner's bath replaced....yes, we use it a lot. We are replacing a whirlpool tub with a drop-in soaker. The tub was placed Friday, and the surround will be closed and tiled tomorrow. I was just cleaning up a bit of the debris from installation to get it out of the way of the tile setter. When I used the sprayer to spray down the inside of the tub, I noticed that when I put it back, a not insignificant amount of water dripped down the sprayer, and made it down the cord onto the floor below the tub. Is this normal? Is it a problem? I will now be careful to allow the sprayer to drain over the tub be fore I put it back, but will that be enough? It's a Delta trinsic faucet set on a Kohler Underscore tub.

Since the water was shut off for installation? Yes, I believe so.

In case anyone looks at this later....the real problem was the design of the Trinsic sprayer- that flat straight tube works fine in the shower, but when placed back in the holder on the bath deck, the water just runs straight down the sprayer and follows the hose under the deck. we replaced it with an Addison sprayer in the same finish, and while not a perfect match in shape, matches in color and keeps me from worrying about mold under the deck.

I’m glad you posted. I have the exact same tub, sprayer, and problem. Is replacing the sprayer as easy as screwing on a new end piece or do I need to replace the hose?

It just screwed off and on easy peasy
Of course the replacement was a delta product as well.
