Get wrenches on the two silver fittings and unscrew them. Pull the brass past them when they're unscrewed and your'e done.

Thanks much . Do I go counter clockwise on the silver fittings? Also why both of them - I would have thought just the top one would take it out.

Counter-clock. You need two wrenches (or a channel-locks in a pinch) - to hold one nut in place while you unscrew the other.

Thanks - this is what I missed - had my wife hold a wrench on the brass nut while I unscrewed the silver .
