RIP

Ironic that just a few days ago,on a whim, DH I watched a few episode of MTM.

More irony, Amazon Prime has a redux of the 90s sitcom Mad about You. It features the original lead actors, Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt. Dh and I watched it and Cloris Leachman is a character in one or maybe 2 episodes. It’s a new release, I wonder if it was her last role.

I was just reading an article about her passing and was absolutely shocked to find out that she played Timmy’s mother on the iconic Lassie tv series!

correction : I’ve just done some fact checking and that article is wrong!

All-time funniest movie line (in my opinion) was delivered by Cloris Leachman in "Young Frankenstein"—"He vas my BOYFRIEND!"

I hope the link works...

A good show to watch Leachman exercise her comedic chops is "Raising Hope." A great comedy, and she really makes it . . .

I was so sad to see this, loved her comedic style (and she seemed cool off the screen, too). RIP to a great lady. She entertained us all a long time.

I have been a fan of hers for many years. I read that she was Miss Chicago in the Miss America pageant in the 1940s and placed in the top 20. Who knew!

I pink, I loved Raising Hope, so funny.

I loved her in every single thing. She was great. A beautiful woman. I’m sad about this one.

I too loved her in every role I saw her in, but her role in Raising Hope was exceptional. We used to tune in just to see what Cloris would do or say this week. Rip.

I still remember the episode of her and it was either in Phyllis or the Mary Tyler Moore show when she came down the stairs for a funeral reception wearing a bright orange dress. Everybody else in the room had black on and my mother and I thought it was so funny! I can still see that visual image

No i think she did, briefly, and then June Lockhart took the role after a contract dispute, so i read

I saw the clip too where she played the mother in Lassie! Totally forgot that.

And now Cecily Tyson has passed as well. Two fabulous actresses gone. Cloris Leachman was wonderful in MTM and I adored Cecily Tyson in everything she did. They cannot have been in their 90’s, right?

R.I.P Cloris Leachman. I loved her work too.

She briefly played Ruth Martin in Lassie.

I loved her in Raising Hope! She was so good and so funny!
