I have never seen Talinum paniculatum in the flesh but I think that might be what you have there.

Yep. And shrubs get called "trees", herbaceous plants "bushes".

The Talinum could be growing at a flower shop in our neighborhood, obviously volunteers, just in front of the shop windows where they display some annuals and tender plants in summer.

I saw them flowering once, they grew in the joints of some concrete pavers

I need to dig up that pic,

it has been nagging me for ages,

but the flower shop has so iffy opening hours that I hardly come by when it is open, would have asked otherwise.

I think the leaf shape and venation look close to Talinum paniculatum, but the petioles on this plant seem longer than what I see in photos. Of course an in situ photo would have been more useful. I could imagine someone mistaking T. paniculatum for a vine, but the petioles don't look right, unless they get longer at some point in the plant's growth?

I've grown Jewels of Opar and the leaves are succulent like portulaca - which I think is related?

I agree more photos would help. It seems familiar. Kind of reminds me of my sambac jasmine vine, but leaves are arranged differently...
