@roseseek I agree. Regan is best for ordering bare roots. Their bare root price is very good. If I really want their potted roses, I can only allow myself to buy one or two.

Their 2021 price is the same as their 2020. I got William Morris potted rose from them last year for $59.99 because it's a bit hard to find at most nurseries. Helen

So very true, Embothrium, though my first reaction was exactly like Kim's--Good Lord! Those prices. At my favorite local nursery, I can get 5 gallon Austins with appropriate tags for about $30. This will go up 10 per cent after Feb 15. Non Austin roses are quite a bit cheaper. However, the pickins' are slim this year as far as Austin selections go. This nursery usually sells huge numbers of the roses, and Austin really cut them off this year, as they did to other sellers around the country. Diane

Regan is very pricey for shipped bare roots. I just received my order of six yesterday, ranging from $23-$27 per rose, with a $5 per rose shipping cost. The roses were shipped on Thurs, and received on Saturday, in perfect wet condition, like they'd just been plunked from a barrel of water. I only order from Regan when I think my local nursery won't carry it. My local nursery has really high quality bare roots in bins for $13-$18. Like Regan, they kick up the price wildly once they pot them up, but not as much as Regan does. But, as Embothrium said, I always consider the price of the real estate for the nursery. Santa Barbara is bad, but the Bay Area is much worse.
