Figuring out the venting on an old house

Hoping to close on a 100 y.o. house in about a week. Visually, I can't tell how the 2nd floor laundry or master bath are vented to the outside.


Is there a colored smoke gizmo and/or trick that can help one trace the venting stack? I would think laundry would be easy (start dryer in the winter, look for plume of hot air)...bath might be a bit trickier.
