Seducer--I've got 2. I've noticed that people on this site have had Seducer do very poorly in their yards. I got one 3 years ago which struggled. 2 years ago I ordered 2 more from a different nursery--the plants grew well and after a year they were quite large next to the original plant. Has anyone had success with this hosta? Beth and Steve, where did you get your plants from? the originator, Stuart Asch is from Michigan so our zones aren't that different. Makes me wonder why it's such a problem grower for a bunch of us?

My Seducer is planted right next to a terrace wall. I've always thought it was due to extra drainage or cold that kept it from increasing. You can see it here in the upper right. It gets mid-late afternoon sunlight.

Nice S hostas, everyone! I just tried to post six pics and Houzz ate my post. Vanished into thin air. :-( I see others have posted more than that and they show up. I don't get what's going on. Be back later.

Steve- you have such an interesting collection! I am very envious of all your beauties. As for Seducer, it is a slow grower for me as well. I can not wait to see mature Smokey Bear..

I think that the S category is my favorite so far.

sandyslopes..😭..it happened to me too..this is what I did today..I use my android phone..used the app..posted 6 pics with just "opening remarks"..posted it..came back using Houzz on the browser (Chrome) no app..used edit to label my photos..Houzz app doesn't allow you to put the cursor where you want..on the browser the photo tab turns a softer gray but will still allow you to select a pic after 6..but then doesn't post..I didn't keep track and had 7 and it deleted all my hard work..😪

I've also used Gardenweb..they allow 10 pics..but it seems slower..I don't normally have 10 so I use Houzz..

So many wonderful S hostas everyone! So much to enjoy!

Miles, my Satisfaction was growing in shade and I moved it to a spot which will get more sun. I am hoping this year it will do better. Sometimes hostas need to find the right spot.

"S" hostas

Sea Thunder on east side with a lot of filtered light. Has done well in this location for several years.

Sum and Substance. Have 3 very large ones on the southwest side. Really struggled the first few years, leaves burning and crisp. Now seem to be doing well, very tall and wide. Time to start splitting come spring. Picture taken end of September

I usually stick with 5 or less pictures in a post. 6 works for me once in a while. So I stick with 5 or less in a post.

nw if the one you think is Sharmon turns pretty much plain green later in the season it probably is.

Doubtful your green one is Striptease. Can't really see it well but the overall shape seems wrong and you should see at least some markings in the centre of the leaves There are some excellent examples here to compare yours to as well as the HL.

sandyslopes hope you are able to post soon! Houzz does seem to be acting up for some today. Are you on GW or Houzz?

peren..this isn't a good pic but it's slightly better of 'Striptease'..left side center of the pic..I bought it at a small local garden center..the tag was handwritten and they only had this one..I thought the name was funny..I had no idea how Striptease should look..it was full and beautiful so I bought it..I have no regrets but I agree..unlikely that it's a Striptease..any plain green possibilities come to mind?..

Seducer is a Dorothy Benedict seedling. Dorothy Benedict has a glacial growth rate and is very dominant. For breeding I steer clear of anything within 2 generations of it. ...But if you like watching paint dry and seedlings that look very similar to the parent, by all means use it.

Haha, my poor Silver Lode......this was a free 1 eye hosta from a sale where I purchased

hostas. It never did anything. I fact it was gone for a year. Then late summer the leaves popped up. I moved it and protected it from squirrels digging. Let’s see what happens this spring. After seeing mbug’s I am hoping for mini miracle.

I moved my Seducer this year, too! Only two leaves on it but hoping for better next season. ....hosta_maker, thanks for that info on the reason it's so slow. I see some have ones that are making progress.

Finally got my S's together (most of them). I've found that I have to resize them before houzz will accept them, so not sure if it's the amount of photos or the combined size that is restricting. Most of my photos are 3.75 MB's and I resize them to approximately 950 KB's.

Well it didn't work, I tried to post 10 photos at the reduced size - all disappeared. :(

It does look very nice. I think that's the same plant, same day, different camera angle. Very different color.

Steve, it is the same plant, same day, different angle. Have you noticed how different the waxy blues can look with subtle changes in lighting?!

I also like Secret Love because it is a bit of a streaker for me...a bit.
