Bathroom layout input request

last modified: 5 years ago

Hi Folks,

Well, we did it. We tore up our 2nd bathroom. Would have been nice to have the layout figured out before we did it, but sometimes things work out that way. There is no timeline on this project so we can just take it as it goes.

It's a small room so the options are limited. here are the priorities:

(1) two sinks as we have twin girls and this will be their bathroom

(2) Standard size tub with tall sides (in comparison to the 1978 model that came out of there)

That's really about it. The previous bathroom was so freaking small you could barely turn around in there.Really, if we can fit 2 sinks and make it work, that would be dandy. However, we do have a 1/2 bath in addition to the master, so one of them could get ready in there. They are only 9 now, but looking ahead...

Attached is a (bad) drawing of the dimensions as well as the location of the existing toilet and bath drain. I spoke with the plumber today and he said, due to the small size of the room, we can move each really wherever we want. Measurements are base plate to base plate, so some room needed for drywall.

The existing door is drawn. It could be moved to any point on the existing wall or the east wall (in the picture, assuming the rings of the binder are north).

We are just at the beginning of figuring out what will go in here, so even advice of, "you need to decide x, y, z, etc." would be helpful.

Thank you.
