Working with Molly and Clive is an experience that will leave you not only with a more beautiful space, but also a deeper knowledge of design, environmental principles, and just generally how to make choices for better living. They are conscientious, thoroughly hardworking, and committed to their clients. Thanks to the expertise and creativity of A Kitchen That Works, we were able to turn a completely dysfunctional space into a glorious bathroom retreat. They respected our priorities and budget while giving us professionally managed advice and choices. The finished bathroom is amazing. For days after the project was complete, I kept opening the bathroom door and peeking in to see if it was really still there - I just can't believe it's our same space.
Mise en Place Design

Jennifer McLinko of Mise En Place was hired by myself and my husband to help us create our dream kitchen and bathroom. After several attempts by myself to create a functional design, we decided we needed help; a lot of help. Jennifer was able to take the vision that was stuck in my head and bring it to fruition. There was a lot involved in our remodel. Our house was built in 1930, so structural and plumbing issues came up. Jennifer was able to configure the design to overcome these issues and kept the design true to what we wanted the final product to look like. She was able to incorporate the functionality I needed with the design I wanted in both rooms. We are very pleased with our new kitchen and bathroom. And all of our friends that saw both the original kitchen and bathroom as well as the new and greatly improved kitchen and bathroom are amazed at the transformation. We couldn't have done it without her creativity and design skills. We highly recommend Jennifer and Mise en Place Design for anyone's remodeling needs.
Brian David Roberts | Interior Planning & Design
Kitchen & Bathroom Designers in Seattle
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsSeptember 4, 2013
After much searching and disappointment trying to find an interior designer, we found Brian and believe we hit gold. We hired Brian to redesign our existing kitchen and master bath. Neither of us had ever remodelled a house. We had an idea of how we wanted the areas to feel but didn't know how to make it happen. Brian asked the right questions about our family to come up with a number of different options on how we can make the best use of our spaces. He really thought of everything when it came to functionality especially for the kitchen; for us, our kitchen really is the heart of the home and not just somewhere to eat. We believe the final product that was provided will help make the remodelling process as economical and smooth as possible. Brian was easily accessible during his design process and afterward asking us the status of our project.

Brittany designed and coordinated the remodel of our master Bath and Bedroom, our stairs and our down stairs office and entry way. She did a phenomenal job with the design and with the selection, coordination and monitoring of the contractors selected for the various remodel jobs. We are extremely pleased with the results. She encouraged us to stretch our imagination to see her vision for the space, we did and we could not be happier.
Phinney Ridge Cabinet Company
Kitchen & Bathroom Designers in Seattle
Average rating: 4 out of 5 starsJanuary 31, 2013
Tim designed our kitchen. It turned out much more efficient, looking beautiful, and with more storage than our previous older 1940's kitchen. I liked several of his suggestions, one example is the sink he recommended; I love. I also liked his idea of putting pots and pans in a drawer next to the stove. Never thought I'd like that but I really do. It works. When he heard that I was not happy with the counter-top, he pro-actively called the company to get it fixed. Overall, I think Phinney Ridge Cabinets provides great service.
Seattle Custom Cabinets

I've wanted custom cabinets for a long time. When my twenty year old cheap cabinets finally wore out, I fell in love with the kitchens on the Seattle Custom Cabinets website. Tim Schultz came and looked at my kitchen and asked a lot of smart questions. He listened to what I wanted, and added some amazing touches I never would have thought of. The cabinets are top quality and really gorgeous and I'm getting way more out of a tiny kitchen because of good design. Tim keeps a fatherly eye over the whole project -- not just the cabinet part - but stuff like appliances, counters, etc. He has been designing kitchens and building cabinets for a really long time. If you want a really great kitchen, step back a little and listen to him. He knows a lot!

Candace Nordquist Interiors
Kitchen & Bathroom Designers in Seattle
Average rating: 5 out of 5 starsJune 28, 2013
Candace Nordquist is a Certified Kitchen design professional. She transformed our kitchen, seating area, family room, and entry into beautiful, highly functional, and comfortable spaces. She provided the design, material selection, coordination or purchase of materials, and recommended highly capable subcontractors I used to finish the project. Our waterfront house needed to have the view maintained or enhanced, the materials and colors needed to be capable of intense direct sunlight, and the traffic flow from the kitchen to the deck supported. She reorganized the kitchen placing flat surfaces between the arriving guest and the view. The tall elements were concentrated on the back wall giving a solid welcoming feel. Her 38" high waterfall granite table provides seating to enjoy the view. There are 28 cabinet drawers for storage, and the food prep, cooking, and clean up areas are all well organized. The electrical plan was also an integral part of the overall design. The under cabinet power outlets are especially nice and have minimized wall outlets. The lighting is able to be changed to create a variety of moods as well as provide specific task lighting. It is a pleasure to cook and entertain in this kitchen.
