Corner window - aluminum or aluminum clad?

We're planning a remodel for our 1960's ranch house in Los Angeles. We have an ocean view that is mainly enjoyed through one 4x5 window in our dining room. There is another window of the same size that runs perpendicular to this one that also shares some of the view. To maximize the view, we're replacing both windows with a corner glass window with no post (butt window). So I'm looking for companies that make glass corner windows.

Our architect recommended Fleetwood for the corner window... dark aluminum on both the inside and the outside. I don't think I want black frames on the inside of my house...would prefer wood or a light color. So maybe a aluminum clad wood window would be better.

It looks like Kolbe makes an aluminum clad window with a glass to glass corner window. But without the post in the middle, their website says you have to assemble in the field. Hm...

Any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Heather

Not a great picture shooting into the sun, but the glass to glass would get rid of this mess in the middle anyway.

The aluminum will tend to be able to run smaller profiles and you could trim out the aluminum with wood if you wanted.

Thanks Windows on Washington. I kind of feel like if we're going to pay a premium price for Fleetwood, it would be silly for me to cover it up with wood on the inside. It would probably be cost prohibitive also. Since this window will be in the front of the house, I forgot to mention that we'll also have 3 operable windows, a side light (door height window next to our front door) that we'll also have to purchase to match this corner window.

I went to a window store today and mentioned Kolbe since they do offer a corner window (assembled in the field by a glass shop). The sales guy said I should check out Windsor since he said their windows were pretty comparable to Kolbe and they too offer a corner window.

Are there and fiberglass clad windows which I'm guessing may not be the best option for this window since it's West facing and gets a lot of sun...

    Thanks,

So I ruled out Fleetwood unfortunately because I don’t want the all black or all clear anodized window. I know the look is super popular right now, but I much prefer being able to paint the window frames white on the inside.

Has anyone else installed a butt glass corner window like this? It would be single paned, silicones together in the middle instead of having a post/stile. The windows are not that big (about 5’x5’ each), so we’re trying to get the most view that we can.

Going with aluminum clad wood. Now the only two brands I could find that offer a corner window with no center post in aluminum clad are Kolbe and Windsor. Am i missing any?

    Thank you!
