This was just an inspiration photo in my album. Not my kitchen, but I did end up buying the same quartzite from the same place. It’s been installed over 3 years now. No issues at all- it’s gorgeous and unique. True PW quartzite is apparently hard to find now. In my experience I found this to be true. I went to probably 20 stone yards all over the So Cal area and several of them tried to pass off a similar looking dolomite as a quartzite. Luckily I was able to get a small remnant piece of the slabs in question to bring home and do testing on. The pieces I tested all ended up being dolomite (they etched and could be scratched). The final place I tried after almost giving up had true PW quartzite, great service/knowledge, but man did I pay for it $$$$. In the end it was totally worth it because every day I stare at my PW and know it was the right choice.

we have been searching for a counter top for 4 months. Haven't found the "one", yet. Huge shout out to Karen_mt and all her education! We do not want dolomite or marble due to etching, but want a light natural stone. Our cabinets are Dove White and Pebble Grey. I do love the Marcaubus stones. Thanks for sharing your story!
