We bought a complete kitchen of Showplace Cabinets for a total kitchen remodel in 2020. I wanted to provide this review as it's difficult to find reviews of Showplace Cabinets, and I really love ours. We spent about $22,000 on our cabinets, which included a large island, typical kitchen perimeter cabinets, a wet-bar with two glass door cabinets that has glass shelves, and a floor to ceiling pantry. We got all the bells and whistles including a spice drawer (LOVE IT!), organizer drawer for the bar area, double utensil drawer (LOVE!), and pull out shelves on the lowers. We also have two lazy Susan's in corner cabinets next to the oven, and two narrow cabinets to hold trays. All of these special organizers have been so helpful.

We chose flush inset Concord as our home has inset throughout and this door style matched the other cabinets as well as the age of our home, 1932. Cabinets are maple painted in white dove and for the island we went with maple stained in Thunder, satin finish. I truly stressed over whether the Thunder stain would be right, but we absolutely love it and have gotten many complements on it. The white cabinets are fresh and really balance well with the warm brown hardwood floors and Thunder stained island.

A few things about the cabinets:

- Several cabinets arrived damaged or broken. We made sure to unbox all cabinets immediately upon receiving them and took pictures of any damage. Our outstanding designer, Marilyn from Zuern's in Cedarburg, WI, worked with Showplace to replace all damaged items that we requested to be replaced, including the large pantry and a "skin" inset panel for the glass door cabinet. Another damaged piece was able to be repaired by us and wasn't going to show, so we were ok with that. We were disappointed with the damages of course, but very pleased with the outcome.

- Painted cabinets: Our cabinets look GREAT one year after we've had them installed. I've noticed no chipping, fading, or peeling. I do not wipe down the cabinets every day, as one reviewer said she did, because it's unnecessary and also water and painted wood don't really mix do they? I do wipe them as needed and dry them afterwards. During installation, there was one small nick that happened to one cabinet. I have a pencil from the manufacturer to fix it, but haven't tried it yet. It hasn't gotten worse. The painted surface seems really sturdy and still looks great.

I would buy these cabinets again if I could buy them through an experienced seller. Marilyn followed up on our order when we had problems, and was truly skilled in ensuring that every aspect of our cabinet order was correct: measurements, alignment with the overall design, fit with appliances, using standard cabinets for cost efficiency without negatively impacting design, and more. I look forward to seeing how they last over 10 years.
