What a surprise, today

Went for a walk today at Penrose, in South Cornwall.
Cold (3°C) with 25+mph winds.
At one point where the path overlooks the sea, facing SW, there is a bank, about 100' long, covered with Fascicularia bicolor.
Imagine my surprise when I spotted one of the heads in flower. Checked around, but it was the ONLY one that was brave enough to wake up, many months too early.
