As shown(?). I don’t understand how a regular depth counter would be possible if a regular depth cabinet isn’t.
Remember to order the cabinet next to the stove with a finished side, since it will show.

Instead of having a huge piece of filler (like in the pic) I’m making this cabinet 21” (rest will be 24”) that way it doesn’t stick out too far. But if I keep the counter as is in pic, it doesnt get in the way of the hall opening. I’m just wondering if it would look strange.

Does this setup work for you? Great! Does it look strange? Who cares! It’s a kitchen, and it must function for you. I’d keep the counter cutout, and use that narrower space for the toaster or coffee maker.
