I didn't get a good pic of X-cellent this year, so here it is from 2019 the first year in my garden.

I've got X-ray and that's it. Does anyone have the Xanadu hostas?

    X less in New Jersey.

    Snow Angels!!!

How adorable, I really miss my girl who would love to roll around in the snow.

nicholsworth, I like your wooded area there and the logs would fit right in. That pretty well sums it up "drill, fill and hang". they attract lots of birds.

Paula, I did laugh at the invisible tape. .....Absolutely autocorrected that sentence!

old_dirt, I have a suet feeder like the ones you make. Northern Flickers and other woodpeckers really like them. Chickadees, Magpies, and Scrub Jays grab some, too.

I'd forgotten that one good thing about snow was when I had a dog who loved to roll around in it. mbug, you brought back a good memory.

No X hostas, so here's two funnies I don't think have been posted.....

I don't get what's wrong with the sentence. Somebody help please.

Northern folk, we have freezing rain today, a North Carolina special. It turns the trees into glass. Beautiful and deceptive. 0.1 inches has been enough to bend power lines and take out electricity for half of the people in the counties north of the capitol. Another 0.25 inches is forecast for this morning. That would be apocalyptic. Oak trees snap, dropping huge trunks and branches. Why can’t we just get respectable, normal winter weather?!

Here is a photo from today from the facebook profile for Hanging Rock park in Stokes County NC, announcing park closure:

steve duggins - Read it one word at a time, real slow.

undertheoaks, totally understand how destructive just a small amount of ice can be. We've had just an icy coating in the past that has been horrible for the trees, for the powerlines, and it also makes the roads impossible to be on until they salt and spray them. We are ready for spring but winter doesn't want to leave just yet. Got a question about slug control, when do you start the ammonia drench?

Miles, I have not done anything about slugs. I am a hobby/amateur gardener. I should take better care of my plants. We should have a new post about late winter preparations to the hosta garden beds.

    No x's for me either.

old_dirt you really know how to make the best of winter. Very nice feeders & nests.

There is nothing better than adorable cat/dog pics.

mbug now that is pure happy, happy, joy, joy. Mine loves to make snow angels too.

sandyslopes that pic of the dog is priceless.

utog love that cat pic. The ice not so much, I hope you do not get the predicted amount.

nw Luke is the only one who is NOT over winter, he loves it.

No Xs for me, but here is a very friendly kitten rescued last fall. She was adopted from the shelter within 2 days!!

Great pictures everyone! Old dirt those bird feeders and nests are really nice!

    No "X's" for me.

Since we are gardening folk, I thought you might like to see how someone in my area decorated a cedar for Christmas. The snow lady came later.

    Some people are so talented!

Great Christmas picture, some people are so creative.

Unfortunately, I am not one of those "creative" people!

Paula, forgot to mention, about the box joke: besides the auto correct being cool, I am deciding whether to throw out a couple of cardboard boxes! It's scary to think how much thought is going into that decision! Maybe the problem is not just being an adult, but being an old adult! LOL

steve, are you looking at that sentence? At first I was looking at the box comment above it and thinking what's wrong with it?

Yes, but I still don't get it. I had my wife look at it and I typed the sentence in to Word and it thinks the sentence is fine as is. The beginning is awkward, but the more times I read it, the easier it becomes.

I'm with you Steve. Apart from it being a convoluted sentence I just don't see it. Perhaps we both auto corrected too well!

You are looking at the wrong sentence...not the one in the box, but the one that says

” What...I...if...told...you”, which we all auto corrected to say “What...if...I...told...you....”

Thank you Jan for finally putting us out of our misery!

Yes, I was looking at the box comment. Even when Sandy asked if I was looking at the box comment instead of that sentence, I was still looking at the box comment because I thought she meant the invisible tape box (which is just pure genius).
