How tall is your ceiling? I did 4" LED cans and I have a 10' ceiling...plenty of light.

My ceiling is 8ft tall. My thinking was less cans with the 6” vs 4.”

No comment on placement but use 4" recessed lights instead of 6". They're far less obtrusive and more modern. Juno makes some great round and square 4" trims such as this 17SQ-WHZ-WH (available in other reflector and trim colors). Or go smaller with a 3" housing and SP2306W trim.

Thank you for the suggestions! My electrician had recommended the 6” over the 4.” I will have to give some more thought to going with the smaller can instead of the 6” for a more modern look.

Definitely use 4” over the 6”. Your electrician is suggesting the 6” because it’s cheaper which is one consideration but as part of a kitchen remodel don’t save a few hundred here only to have your kitchen look like the lighting was leftover. 4” cans 25” from the walls or 12” from the face of cabinets. Even grid, roughly 4’ oc.
