We used Edgeccomb gray as our main color throughout our new build and love it. It does though, in some lighting conditions, have some pinkish undertones. Our floors are white oak so pretty neutral and does really well. I would defer to the experts on here. Good luck!

With the cost and commitment of painting an entire house, I would consider more than the flooring. Here is some info on Edgecomb specifically and be sure to consider your kitchen’s components and furniture/decor.

Our family room is Edgecomb with White Dove trim and oak floors. North facing, adequate light.

I have Edgecomb Gray with simply white trim with yellowish white oak floors and I’m happy with it. But i agree to try samples in your spaces first.

You can make it work but in general, cool gray and warm tones don't "go". If you strategically place oak and gray colored furniture and accessories in the room the colors will balance and look intentional. If everything in the room skews cool and gray, then the floors will stick out like a sore thumb.

That being said, it's easier to decorate if you pick one tone - cool or warm.

Nature manages really well mixing both warm and cool colours together ,,,,🌱

I think Edgecomb Gray is a warm color, right?
So with oak it would be warm + warm.

marylee, I am going by the dozens and dozens of Houzz posts over the years from people who paint a room a cool gray or paint cabinets a cool white and or add a large gray sectional to their predominately warm room and wonder why it looks off. YMMV.

I used Edgecomb Gray almost exclusively throughout 3 floors. Main floor has maple floors, so definitely a "yellow" (light brown) tone. The wall color can vary throughout the day and time of year, but so does every color. To me, Edgecomb Gray is the perfect background color, and blends with what else is in the room. I have not ever noticed it to be pink in our house.

My trim/cabinet color is Benjamin Moore AF-35 Vapor, a warm white.

If you use a bright white for trim, I think the Edgecomb will pull much more gray.

I think that may have more to do with Hue Family location & Chroma, rather than the notion of warm or cool?

Lots of people struggle with pinker near neutrals next to more yellow based ones for example. Not necessarily wrong, but may feel slightly off to some eyes.

In that particular case the distance between them may require a bridge of another colour in order to create a more pleasing sense of harmony for many.

Interestingly, if you pick a Hue Family location on the Color Strategist Wheel and then look across the wheel to its complement, it will have the opposite warm or cool designation.

At the moment I'm slightly obsessed with Sherwin-Williams newer Emerald Designer Collection.

Accolade SW9516 is a better choice than Edgecomb with your floors.

I was actually going to suggest classic gray. It's much warmer than some others.
