What sort of fixtures would you suggest to replace these five wall mounted lights? We are also adding recessed lighting in the adjacent family room, but my husband feels strongly that there should be uplight sconces in these spots for indirect light. I hate these triangular fixtures but I’m having trouble figuring out what I might like here. I’d say my style is “transitional” (that might be a euphemism for “clueless” in this context) and I’m not great at visualizing things.

We are also going to hang two pendants over the new island, exact style TBD. The pendants will most likely each be hung from some type of arm the will come out from the bulkhead so that the lights can be centered over the island.
