So it depends on the style you are going for. It seems to be fairly transitional thus far so here are a few options. Without dimensions, it's hard to say but you basically want 1/3 yo half you couch under it and the front feet of chairs sits on. I would tape it out with painters tape and measure it. If it's an odd size, buy a larger run and have it cut and bound.

Personally I'd go with an abstract or textured rug in order to not take away or be in conflict with your chairs. Avoid very obvious or bold patterns.

I would definitely have blue in the area rug. The hall should probably be something that can hide the dirt, so a very small pattern.

They're really separate rooms, so I don't think they have to match, just not glaringly clash. You already have a lot of constraints in the living room with those patterned chairs, so I'd start there and it will probably be much easier to find an entry rug.
