I have a beautiful live edge walnut dining table with black metal legs. Now I need to get a buffet - does it need to be walnut and black? Can it be a different wood? Should I avoid wood and go with stone or something else? I'm not sure what's the right thing to do. Also, what kind of rug should I be looking for?

My house is transitional, leaning more toward modern. The floors are grey wood tile and the walls are "Agreeable Grey". I'm hoping to keep it modern and add organic touches.
