I need help with my indoor yuka plant

Hello all, my first time asking a question here. Recently I purchased yuka and I placed it in the brightest room in the apartment. Soon after I started noticing browning of leaves. Then the leaves turn yellow, and look very droopy. I was told to repot it, which I did, making sure there is a drainage on the bottom. The roots seemed fine when I was doing it. I make sure I don’t overwater it, but the air is dry due to heat. I keep the room cool (around 60F) and run the humidifier. Please help, what’s wrong with it! Is it fungus? Is it overwatered? Does it need more humidity? Warmer temp?

did you carry it outside in cold weather ??

did you premoisten the media???

how do you water it ...

i doubt it needs the humidifier .. but its not an issue ...

is there a furnace register under the window??

if im not mistake.. its a corn plant.. not a yucca ... but other will firm that up ...

I am in Boston. Yes, I carried it in the cold :(, but it was brief, maybe 5 min between the store and the car. There is a heater under the window. Should I move it away from it? The problem is that there is a heater under every window in my house. What do I do? I didn’t water the soil before repotting, but I did it right after. It’s been over a week ago since I repotted it, the soil seems semi-dry to the touch. Yes, it’s corn plant, I thought it’s yucca family, am I wrong? I am new to house plants and this one is not the easiest perhaps, but it’s my favorite!

It is a Dracaena massangeana (Corn plant), while Dracaena are related to Yuccas they in a different genus, moreover, they are more tropical than many Yuccas (where many species, but not all, are native to semi-arid regions). 60 F sounds like of cool and more humidity is help for both the plants and the people in the home. I would let it be for a while, let it adjust to your house.

how cold was it outside when you carried it to the car .. was the car warm.. or just as cold .. etc ... its been single digits recently in MY MI ... i doubt it was a big deal in nov ... in MA unless its was some freak nov ...

when i bring in a new plant... i just water it properly for a few months.. to let it get over the stresses of shipping from grower.. to seller to me ...

i would never repot a stressed plant .. until after the months mentioned ...

just water it properly .. letting it near dry in between waterings and see what happens ...

i always work with MOIST media ... and then water in when the job is done.. to settle the media .... and never pot into dry media .. you just cant predict whether the whole gob ever gets properly moistened if you water after ... except by the weight of the pot ... e.g. a pot of dry media might weigh a pound.. but with moist/wet soil maybe 7 pounds ... T

HEN you know there is available moisture in the media ... [depends on pot size of course ...]

just water it properly.. and lets try not to kill it with too much love ... let it destress ... and you as well ...
