Since you cross posted this in the Harvest forum I assume you are looking for a recipe for cooked Goose? Goose jerky is really good but I've only had it made from wild geese.

I used to have a small flock of laying hens and one randy rooster. There was a pecking order amongst the hens but no real violence. Culling the geese before they kill the rest of your flock seems like the best idea to me.

I agree with Jack, I don't think you're going to get much help here on the Harvest forum, unless you want to know how to harvest or preserve those geese!

We had geese when I was a child and they were always mean and didn't seem to protect anything. They did, however terrorize visitors, attack everything that moved and made a lot of noise. I've thought of getting some, just for Thanksgiving dinner, but keep having that memory of my Mother being chased by a goose and my Dad plopping a metal barrel of some kind over the vicious thing. The geese were gone shortly thereafter.

Good luck, I'd be eating them, although I have a neighbor who says they make great "watch dogs". Yeah, I told him, so does my dog, LOL. They do seem to mostly leave his goats alone and he doesn't have any other bird species, but they hiss at me and run at me with their heads down whenever I go to his home.

Geese are mean.... period. Don't mind eating them but would never have them as part of any flock.

Geese are bullies and they are not likely to quit. You need a livestock guardian dog.

We had a few turkey hens we raised up with some chickens once and they were very sweet and thought they were chickens. They deterred hawks and eagles from swooping down on the chickens. They cant protect against coyotes or large dogs etc.

We also have a chicken hen that raised up 11 baby turkeys but thats a different story lol.
