I never like fan above a dining table or a kitche island . Food has ahrd enough time staying hot without have a wind blowing on it. So IMO get a great chandelier hang it so the bottom is 30-35 “ above the table and do the fans in the LR. Another reason I hate vaulted ceilings BTW.

I agree with Patricia. Ever use paper napkins on a table with a ceiling fan above it????

You could get a light attachment for a ceiling fan, from there you could modify whatever light you want to hang from it; just note that it would require some DIY skills to achieve that.

The cooling factor and dust would stop me from having a fan over a dining table. If you're melting while dining try some floor fans. They make some really beautiful ones now. You can see some here.

You must be sure that no light shines through the fan blades and that no light from a nearby ceiling fixture reflects off the fan blades. In either case, shadows from the moving fan blades will sweep around the room. Get a fan hung from a downrod with an integrated light that shines downward from the bottom of the fan.
