Repairing Kitchen Cabinets?

I have been tearing apart my backsplash, countertops, and pulling down cabinets as there were some issues (such as the range hood being 3" over from the range...) and more and more seems to come up.

The photo below shows the damage to the back of the sink cabinet - I believe it's more from the window above probably leaking, or being left open and not having proper drainage/ventilation. We're definitely going to sort all that out and replace the insulation/drywall behind it.

We went into this looking to just really paint cabinets and replace countertops/backsplash (easy right?!?!). The question I have is will a carpenter be able to repair the damaged sink cabinets fairly easily/cost effectively? Is it as easy as replacing the damaged pressboard with proper plywood?

Thanks!
