Don't think I've ever seen a pot filler used in such a location before, but so practical and clever

I would want a drain. Even on my stove, my pot filler gives me anxiety.

Generally, any indoor faucet should really have a drain. I should talk; I also have faucets in my dining room (cum sunroom).

ETA - also we only use spring water for coffee, not tap.

On a related note, I do love electrical outlets in cabinets and drawers (eg for a hairdryer).

That is cool, but I agree it would give me anxiety. I always have dribbles and spills when I make coffee. (I wish they had adjusted that lower cabinet before taking the pic. I'm not usually terribly anal about such things but that jumped right out at me.)

I have that coffee maker. You have to be making a ****load of espressos to warrant that.

Another anxiety driven person here. I didn't even put a pot filler over the range in our last house because there was not a drain.

We have a pull-out shelf in our pantry that houses the blender and coffeemaker. DH pulls out the shelf when he turns it on each morning, and I push it back in once I get up/it's cooled off... but it has been left inside the cabinet a time or ten, and has not hurt the shelf above.

side note: I like the cabinet color!

Love the cabinet color and the marble slab. We had a pot filler in a house we built (aren't they very 2005?). It held up, but I would never put one in again. Too vulnerable!

I love the color of the cabinets.

We have a coffee maker inside our cabinets that has fresh water pumped into the maker. I love not having to pour water into the machine.

A quick fill from the fridge filtered water

Yeah put me in the camp of no taps without a drain underneath...but the cabinet color is lovely.

In some ways it makes more sense to me than a pot filler over the stove. I figure any pot you fill at the stove has to be emptied or drained at the sink, so you end up toting it anyway. At least the coffee goes into you, not the drain so you don’t have to carry anything to the sink except the coffee mug and grounds. Nevertheless, as you all have said,I’m get agita thinking of a faucet without a drain. I love the cupboards and marble counter! I could have that set up just to look at it.

I have my coffee pot close to the stove because of the pot filler. The coffee pot has a removable water reservoir. I don't know if I would want one in a cabinet. I guess if you leave the doors open the steam might not harm the cabinet.

Love the cabinet color, so dreamy! Any guess what color is that and from which paint brand?

Not only no drain, but am I the only one who lets the water fun for a few moments (at least first thing in the morning) before using?

Oh thanks for finding the color. It really is pretty.

Here is mine, risky I guess having water auto fill but I still love it. Not nearly as pretty as the blue one posted. I am still dreaming about the blue cabinets. One day maybe.

DLM2000-GW Running water in the morning is not an unusual practice. It is advised with homes that have lead solder. Lead solder wasn't band from plumbing until 1986 There is still quite a bit of homes that still have lead lines leading to their homes. A flushing of the lines removes any lead that might have leached into the water overnight. My parents flushed the lines in the morning back in the 50s.

@functionthenlook I do it because water sits in the lines (be they copper or pex or remnant galvanized) and it tastes stale to me. Not what I want to brush my teeth or make my coffee with.

DLM, I do the same. Almost always run the water before using it. We have a whole house filter and I still do it.

To clarify, I meant the steam from the little foamer wand thingy. Maybe Fori can set me straight about how this one works; but I know when I use the foamer on our machine, if I'm not paying attention, I end up spraying steam in many directions at once.

at that point - do the true built in maker with plumbed water and drain....

    (and I don't drink coffee....)

Thank you, bbstx, for the info on the cabinet color.
