Great Idea, Miss Rosie! sphagnum has fungicidal and bactericidal property. Very high survival rate.

Looks like a good time to move the plants out of the kindergarten.

I groomed them and rooted the leaf tips that were removed. Rosie, if you want them, let me know. I will wait until the leaves are rooted, 2 or 3 more weeks. They are easier care than AVs. Low to moderate light, can be outdoors in mild weather, not fussy or precise about watering. The blooms are fun, leaves look nice even when not blooming. I think they came from a nursery in PA. I have a couple more lovelies to show on this thread. First my sininngia pusilla-I complained that it wasn't doing enough and after Irina gave me a polite talking to I took her advice and now I have a full pot! In fact it needs to be divided and spread out! lol

Second is my brugmansia Charles Grimaldi, cuttings given to me by a friend late last fall. Hopefully they will bloom this year!

And last but certainly not least,,,,,,begonia foliosa. A miniature leaf begonia that bloomed while she was rooting!!!!! I just love small things!!!!!

I took these pix this morning because it was raining and so dark and dreary my cell phone camera didn't have to compete with the sunlight coming thru the window!
