W daylilies 2021
Today it’s time to show your W daylilies.

Wanda Lou Lovelyhas been here a few years and has done well enough to stay.
Witches Stick is a nice late season bloomer, decent performer here.
When Pigs Fly was a bonus, another Selman daylily that’s been slow to establish. The blooms are big on a tall plant. it had some splotchiness last season.
Wide Wide World, lovely color on this oldie, the color isn’t t captured correctly in photos.
When My Sweetheart Returns is a lovely smaller daylily. It has had good bud count and multiplied nicely.
Woman at the Well is getting established here.
Winifred Esther was added last summer and had a few blooms. I hope it does well this season.

Wayah Valley:
One of my oldest daylilies, bought from the Wayside Catalog because of the funny name (named after a fish's mouth) and because they said it was purple. In our climate it can look closer to purple then some others called purple which I grown since.Wayside Guppy Gums:

Wesley Lee Kirby: Vigorousgrower and pumps out the blooms.
Women Seeking Men: Tall and has wonderful blooms. I need to hybridize with it, as it is reportedly a good parent. Makes huge fans so give it space.
WOODSIDE LUSTRE: Nice small red bloom.
WEBSTER'S PINK WONDER: A great plant. Blooms are huge. Makes a statement in the garden.
Widow's Walk: A nice smokey purple. It is relatively new, so it is getting established.
WOODSIDE ROMANCE: A true pink to my eye. I remember seeing this pictured on the front of Mr. Apps catalog when I first got into daylilies over 30 years ago and immediately faling in love with it.
WYATT'S CAMEO: My kids like to refer to this one as being tie dyed.
WOLVERINE with Isabelle Rose in the background. Has been a little slow in getting established. It was a single fan 3 years ago.
WALKING IN BEAUTY: I moved an entire bed and thought that I had gotten rid of this one since it was not performing very well. I missed a piece and am glad I did. I realy do like this one and its performance has improved.
WREN'S SONG: This is a beautiful pink on tall scapes.
WILLOW DEAN SMITH: Beautiful bloom ona good plant.
WILD CHERRY WINE: One of my favorite pinks by Mr. Bennett.
Wisest of Wizards: An oldie but a goodie. A wonderful parent to many.

Woman At The Well - got in fall 2019, is still getting established here. Didn't see any pretty blooms last summer. It did rebloom.
Works For Me - I divided it last year, hopefully it bounces back okay this summer

Maryl and David - I always enjoy seeing Wild Cherry Wine.
Larua - Works for Me is such a nice clump!
kay - Sorry to hear about the monitor accident and another frustrating day with Houzz.
Wall of Fire had a good season last year, and rebloomed for the first time since I got it planted in the ground.
Wheel of Time - It was so cool during the first few weeks of last season that hardly any of the blooms on Wheel of Time opened properly.
White Tooth is one of my favorite toothy cultivars. It always performs well and reblooms, but it has never been the registered height.
Woman in Red was new last year and didn't have many buds. I look forward to seeing what it can do this season.
Westbourne Little Lamb took a couple years off blooming, but seemed to do well last season. Another one that's never been the registered height.
Willow Dean Smith doesn't perform as well as it used too, now that it's in too much shade.

My Willow Dean Smith is also less floriferous. Perhaps needs to be divided.

Whistler's Sister --has made a good display when established

Wolverine --growing strongly now. I suspect that the single-fan start is the reason for David's slowness with this one.

5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoWell, I posted my W's yesterday, but like Kay's the post disappeared.
There are so many W's it is hard to mention just a few. I love Wild Red Heart and Wall of Fire. Wild Cherry Wine is such a lovely pink. I love Westbourne Little Lamb. Wolverine is a great grower for us even though we load it down with pods every year. It is very fertile.
Woodchopper's Ball is an odd daylily--60 inches tall with a four inch flower.
Here is our Wolverine.
The photo makes Wishful Dreaming brighter than it really is. I am not a fan of this one. The pattern is not very pronounced.
The color is not right on Wide Wide World. Its color is some of the most luscious in the garden in my opinion.
Wickedly Wild and Wonderful does not get to its published stats in height, but it blooms well every year. It's an early season bloomer.
I know everyone loves White Eyes, Pink Dragon, but I have not been overly impressed with it.

Whiskered Tree Swift has done relatively well for a Lambertson. We love his daylilies but they are generally tender here. This well is doing fine.
Wandering Werribee is one of our favorites.
Westbourne Frill and Thrills was one of Mary Jane Meadows' later ones. We were lucky to get it before she passed.

Going to post before the new internet company comes to switch everything over. I will save money and drastically increase the speed!
Webster's Pink Wonder. It's never been as dark as its first year when I brought it home from Dicks. Doesn't look as dark as David's above either; I still enjoy it.

Many many lovelies here . My fav's are
Wanda Lou Lovely, Woman at the Well, Wayah Valley, Waterdrops , What's up down South, Wikileaks, Woman in Red , Westbourne Good Old Days, Woodchopper's Ball, Wilson Spider . The red's seem to hold the majority of my choices this time .
