Fig woke up early

This yellow fig barley slept this winter. It started growing in late December. As the days get longer there is less etiolation. Is it worth cutting back again? Normally it would be breaking buds around this time of year..

Cannot speak from experience with greenhouse as i usually do the fig shuffle out of garage. in our cold zone near Chicago.

With that said if mine i would take a close look hard to tell from your picture maybe cut back just a few limbs on plant instead of most of them for fear of stalling out the plant in it's response which would negate an early start perhaps.

Matt from what i can see in picture though the plant does not look too spindly as of yet and may do well without pruning anything but if winter hangs on well you probably know it will elongate fast looking for that orange ball in the sky.

This is a first, figs have started to show up in March! I see about 3 so far. There are three main canes. When they reach about 5-6 feet they will be topped so they can branch out.

That sure is a beautiful and healthy looking plant Matt.

Nice picture of the figs emerging and will give an idea of how long it took for them to ripen at seasons end.

It would be nice to see how your plant or plants progress this season.

Matt, happy for you! The only tree I can get to do that is my inground one. I can't wait until it wakes up. I unwrapped the insulation and every branch made it. When I scratch they are green. Just waiting for the warm to finally settle in and with temps in the low 40's today nights in the thirties, it is a real late start for that tree. There is green when I scratch the branches though))
