Lighting Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Room for sconce?

Remodeling my bathroom and trying to decide on vanity lighting. The vanity will be 87" with 2 sinks. Will have a 24x36" framed mirror above each sink. There is also a skylight above each sink. I was hoping for sconce lights on the sides of the mirrors for design and functionality reasons. However on one side there there is a wall perpendicular to the vanity which leaves only 8" of space between the mirror and the wall. Technically I could fit a sconce but from a design perspective should I squeeze it in that space? I have plenty of room above the mirror for a light over the mirror but have always heard lighting on the sides is better than above. Thoughts? Advice?

I need a picture and to be honest I don’t love sconces for good bathroom lighting I much prefer a bar above each mirror .

Sounds like they won't fit, but you could add a lighted mirror or a skinny bar type sconce.

I'd lean towards drop pendants instead of sconces. Be sure to put them on a dimmer switch so you have control over how bright they are.

Also, with two mirrors and all these other pieces, you can create an overly busy look pretty quickly. I'd go with one big mirror, which is a cleaner look and gives you more viewing area.
