Need help picking grout color and choosing tile spacing.

So our kitchen is basically done minus the backsplash. My wife has chosen this tile for me to install. Looking for direction on what spacing we should go with? I’d like to do 1/16” as that will eliminate a cut/partial line of tiles at the undersized of the cabinets. But wasn’t sure if 1/16” was to small for this type of tile.

Also looking for opinions on grout color. Cabinet color is alabaster and granite is a black with some grey. Thoughts?

That is really cool tile in a seriously nice looking kitchen. I'd vote to match the tile color. I think the dimensionality of the tile is interesting enough. You don't need to emphasize the tile shape, in my opinion. (If you have extra tile, you could play with sample grout boards if you're really torn.)

So I installed it with 1/16” spacers. Still need to decide about grout color.

Check out mapei warm gray, frost, or silver. The silver may be too cool for your tile if picture is true. But that’s if you’re not looking for too contrasting.

Thanks barncatz, this is the first and probably last kitchen I’ll ever do myself. While rewarding once done, building my own cabinets prolly took a few years off my life from the stresses of doing it!

The tiles are cheap enough, maybe I will make a couple grout boards. My original thought was just finding a premixed grout that was close to the tile color.

WOW great kitchen and pretty tiles. I find I like lighter grout colors or the same as the tile when I look at photos.

Maybe @Beth H. : will stop in. She is a great designer and always has amazing ideas.

I would go just a hair lighter than your tiles. I used Fusion Pro for my backsplash (and fireplace, and our entry tile too), it doesn't need to be sealed, and it has perfectly color match caulk easily available. Premixed. Sounds like you are plenty capable of handling grouting :) Amazing job!!
