For an 8’ ceiling, neither of those work. You’ll notice that in the pics the ceilings are 9’ with a vault, and 10’ with a vault. The proportion is all wrong for an 8’ ceiling. With an 8’ ceiling, you are better off going with a stainless steel hood. If you insist on a cabinetry hood, it must be 6“ wider than the cooktop, and at least 24” deep front-to-back.
