It looks as your plant is aeonium. First, you need to get it out of reach for cat - and I am not sure how easy that would be...The damaged leaves will almost certainly dry up and fall off. Protect the plant from cat attacks, that is the only way.

only time will tell what needs to be done ... there really is little instant satisfaction/gratification in gardening or houseplanting ....

You’ll have to be extremely careful not to overwater because the shape of that pot, compared to a straight sided pot, allows a lot of extra potting mix which will hold more water. This plant will be going into dormancy in the coming summertime, so even less water then. You can test to see if it needs water by putting a wooden skewer into the soil for a few minutes. When you pull it out, if it’s damp, don’t water. Be sure it gets plenty of direct light.
