thanks Karin..I love seeing your spring hostas..spring leaves are so fresh and perfect 🙂..I had a 2020 spring freeze too 😪..I had just a few boxes and covered what I could but it was a drop in the bucket..the damage wasn't a disaster but as they grew I could see some imperfections here and there..we made progress on our stone edging..

one disappointment..utility workers damaged some plants and stones (not the ones pictured)..we filed a claim and received compensation..but now we have to redo it..

Hi Karin! I took your advise and just played with my succulents and I think I have a handle on what works for me. Now, I have a few cacti as well. Not as many as you, but I was recluctant to get involed with more houseplants. I tend to over water. So far I haven't lost any yet. My son even bought me the Aloe vera plant.

debra..thank you..the damage made me sad but the cash helps..we won't know what needs to come out until later in the season..we're retired and have time to work on it..but it would've been better to work on other things that needed to be done instead of redoing something that was finished..🙁

Hi Ann, so sorry for the damage. You are spending so muc time with making the garden perfect. But at least you have the time to do it and no stress :-)

Debra, yes, my little garden cat was in the swinging chair. He is still around and I'm glad he survived another winter outside. I put a chair out for him last weekend and it took no more than 5 minutes for him to occupy it :-)

Shadow, it's good to see that you have a few succulents more :-) Watering is not easy, I only water mine every 3-4 weeks and only a teespoon per plant. The cacti are dry since September and I will start with watering mid of April, depending on the weather, maybe even later.

I will add now a few pictures of May, for me the most beautiful hosta month of the year...

This is a piece of garden I got from the neighbours. It's behind their garage and only weeds were growing there. Now we have agreed that I can fill it with pots :-)

The yellow ones are from my friend from Belgium, his own seedlings. He started his own line of hosta with the prefix Asian a few years ago.

Karin..I appreciate your support about my garden damage..I was angry and sad..but my husband took care of the situation..I'll probably get mad again when we start working on it Lol..

your succulents look great with your hostas..you have matching colors of hostas and succulents Lol..some of your succulents are a nice blue..

here's your laugh of the day..my new succulents..$1 for both pots..50 cents each..I can tell after reading your comment that I shouldn't have watered them when I brought them home..that was a few weeks ago and they each lost a leaf..I haven't touched them since..

my garden is my island, I love it and I would not thrive without out :-) Sometimes it is frustrating when the weather is not perfect, but there's nothing we can do against it.
