Brushwood already did a big restock after Christmas I believe. I did recently ask if he would be doing more and he said slowly as they become available he would add them. They definitely sold a lot as ones I had my eyes on sold out even tho he has a ticker for 6 or less remaining and the like .

Donahues is great to order from tho smaller and I love the folks at humming farms clematis too. Although I have most of theirs good for my heat.

Also on Etsy there is a lady selling them small but cheap , I imagine the grown out plugs you buy on Donahues as a wholesaler . I have some coming this week. :)

Thank you, Lilyfinch. I already ordered about 17 from Donahues and got Voluceau ordered from Brushwood but there are some I'm hoping will be offered this spring from Brushwood or Silver Star.

When they have the quantities of stock necessary :-) And that doesn't always follow a specific timeline. I rarely have a need to do any mail order but my preferred MO source, Joy Creek Nursery, posts an expected date when certain cultivars will be available.

All you can do is keep checking or get on a wait list. I know Brushwood has one of those.

Sounds like a fabulous order Erasmus ! 17! Wow . I used to order like that when I had an acre of land. Now o have to reign it in . I’m not sure how the type twos would do here so I limit myself to the 3s . I probably will try a little duckling clematis, that was one of my favorite in Tennessee .

I haven't been growing clems all that long except for a few old ones but I love 'em. I may well decide I've bought too many when they get growing...it's apt to look like a jungle.

I'm on the waiting list at Brushwood for Yukikomachi and Victoria, but I see one at Hummingbird that looks similar to Y, Kimi'ideara. I don't know how they compare.

I bought Fujimusumi from Joy Creek last summer and it was pretty expensive to ship all the way across the country...at least I think that was what made the total pretty high. I hope my potted ones made it through the winter ok. I can see how you'd miss your land...it must have been glorious to look out over that pond and also to see the cows nearby.

Yes, shipping is expensive. I only order from Brushwood because of that. Or Donahue's. Or ebay or etsy. First three are my preferred. Brushwood has been restocking, but they are selling out fast.

My small order from the link on Etsy came! They are all bursting out of the bottom of 3.5 inch pots . Half the size of brushwood but also half the price and very robust . I’m very happy to get these back in my garden! 2 blue angel, one Giselle and one comptesse de Bouchard. I’ll be ordering more for sure . There’s were the $14.99 size

They look good, LIlyfinch. Good price. I noticed Donahue's went up a little but they're still a pretty good price. It must cost a mint to heat the greenhouses in a northern state. I don't know how it can be affordable. Brushwood did move from PA to Georgia.

I spoke with Debbie from SilverStar Vinery today and she is having a hard time at this moment. This season may be out for her. She really sent great plants.

Thanks for letting me / us know...I was looking forward so much to seeing what she was going to offer. Sorry things are difficult for her right now. Sheila, have you been to her garden? I don't remember if it's in OR or WA but it would be great to see it.

I am glad I know too, Erasmus. She invited me, but I have not been to see her garden yet. It sounds lovely. She describes the location on her website. Washington I think.

Sounds like another nursery a young person with more energy could really contribute to.

I found out about thelilygarden.com and had to order a few lilies. This lady, Ms. Freeman, has been hybridizing them for 40 years and the prices seemed good to me. Shipping from CA to NC was only $8 for five bulbs. I need to get outside and find room for them. Temps in the 70's today.

My Princess Kate plant was evergreen through the winter. I hate to prune it as the leaves look so nice but guess I should. It has only been in the ground one season but grew well.

There are a couple of threads on GW about Debbie's nursery with lots of pics of her garden...they are inspiring.
