Upper lighted cabinet decor

Hi everyone! I love these beautiful cabinets and I have a very tall vaulted ceiling. The cabinets are lighted and meant to showcase decorations. However, I am very minimal and don’t like clutter but I do want to display something. Any suggestions?

    Glass or pottery pieces.

Yes i think that’s a great idea, ty!

Keep it simple since you don't like clutter. Maybe the same color or basic white.

Here are ideas I love... Maybe you will too.

Toni, you're wise to keep it simple. In my case I kept the items behind glass all white, although my cabinets are wood. Using the same color or color range can create a calm look IMO. Having some contrast with the white cabinets can also be nice, especially if you'd like a pop of color. Boxerpal's Squirrel Hill Kitchen photo is a nice example showing color but still simple.

Yes I agree, I had all white ceramics but it blended in with the interior of the cabinets too much. I need to find something simple in a subtle color. Thank you!

Neutral toned pottery, I recently used a piece in staging that had subtle black and white lines- would be perfect in the mix. At Home- if you have one near you...

That’s a wonderful idea! Do you have a pic?

Hey all, I found some vases I really like & purchased them. Here’s the view now. I was so worried about things looking too busy I bought all the same except 2. Now I’m thinking it’s too monotonous. What are your thoughts?

Yes, too monotonous. Different white pieces (but of similar size) would look great.

Bummer! I was hoping it would look good. But ya, I believe you may be right.

Yes your instinct was right I agree too monotonous. But I do love how the light really lights up a halo around the vases. Once you get different white objects it will look really pretty.

Thank you! I agree. It’s been a process but that’s what I have to do to see what looks best. Appreciate your input!

    Agree with different white objects.

That’s a nice idea but these cabinets are extremely tall from our vaulted ceilings & I’m a shorty so I would never choose to use anything from these. They are purely decorative. Thank you for your insight though!

Toni, you could still use lucky's suggestion to arrange items more randomly. The all-white items I put behind our glass consist of bowls, cake stands, small soup tureens, gravy boat, tea pot, etc. In my case I have other items I can use, so they stay in place for the most part. You could still use a couple of the vases and add in some other items. Like you did with the vases, I only have one item behind each section of glass. It looks like you already know it's nice to keep it simple.

Thank you. Yes the thing I used to hate is when I had one thing centered then the door frames would block it in the middle and I couldn’t see it unless I was looking from the side. That’s what got me started and rearranging things. I wanted something slender that I could put on each side of the doors. I love everyone here giving me great advice it’s so appreciative!
