Need help with lighting

Here are pictures of living room and dining area. We are happy with the way it looks. The problem is the lighting. When we entertain, I use the window sill as a server. The area around the large window in the middle is not adequately illuminated. People say they really can't see the food well. I would like to incorporate a floor lamp but don't know where to place it. I know I could get a smaller desk. (laptop has to stay) and could put a floor lamp to the right of the desk. I would also have to move the shelves.

I need access to the cabinets under the window. Thinking of replacing desk lamp. Would like suggestions about what to choose. We like contemporary/modern.

Need ideas.

- LED tape light in a channel over the window shelf and in front of the window.
- Small, directional recessed lights installed in the drywall above the window shelf and in front of the window. Square.
(Unfortunately, all your photos chop off the top of the window and the ceiling.)

Teak or right tan and even one structured lighting is something that I’m really into right now

I bought this sunmory floor lamp a few weeks age. It is very unique looking and fits perfectly with the style of my house. The legs are made of actual wood and stained a warm tone with goes good with the other colors in my house. You do need to make sure that you have a bit of space to accommodate the larger footprint compared to more traditional lamps.

I've always wanted to buy a floor lamp with USB interface. I looked around on google and found the prices are not low. Then, I found this item. Their price was much lower than market price. It has not only two USB interfaces and one power interface, but is also of solid wood structure. So I placed the order fast. After installation, it could connect to the power supply and charge my mobile phone. All the interfaces work normally, and itlooks neat. It's really great to buy such a practical product atthis price. I'd love to recommend this shelf floor lamp to my friends.
