We're ready to update our 30+ year old kitchen. Current cabinets inadequate for size plates, no pullout drawers; fridge too big for space; island not very functional; small dining area that only holds table for 6 when we occasionally have 8 dining. Have thought about knocking out wall that has gas stove and enlarging into front room (currently used as office - kind of!). When guests are over, my back is to them with food preparation. No electric in island. Wall with book shelves has firepace in it and small entry closet visible from front door. Very open space.

Want - more counter space, gas for cooking (wall ovens and gas cook top?), better island, move refrigerator, updated countertops and backsplash.

Dining area, sliding glass doors to deck. Banister railing separates area from living room. Had suggestion to place counter cabinets where railing is.

Canned lighting - not dimmable. Ceiling fan over dining table area - also not dimmable.

Had suggestion to recess fridge into wall and move hutch, put countertop/cabinet where window is and do half window for light. ceiling fan is above table.
