What about an outside corner piece of trim? In my opinion, it’ll look more intentional.

I thought about a molding. Thing is, the house is in the modern style with minimal trim - just baseboards - (though also not such a great idea in retrospect.) The kerfed doors also look grubby at this point. We don't walk around in laboratory slippers with cotton gloves on.

I think I will try it. I can always remove it.
