xylosma help?

I live in South TX and we recently had a long cold freeze. I have 10 Xylosma is my backyard. They have dropped all their leaves. How can I tell if they are going to make it?

    Clip off a twig or scratch the bark with your nail, If you see green, it's alive,

    Okay I just did this and it appears that some are alive and some aren’t. Anything I should do to support the ones that are still living? Also should I go ahead and remove the dead ones?

    Yes, remove the dead, then treat the plant as you would normally. The live ones will grow fine.
