Clematis Mrs. Cholmondeley will not bloom-planted June 2016

I'll take any advice! I planted two Mrs. Cholmondeley in June 2016. They are in full sun all day on a fence that runs east to west. They both get huge and healthy every year but never bloom. I am ready to pitch them and put in two other clematises. Also, I put down some manure or granular fertilizer but not that much. I have never had this problem with any other clematis I have planted. I purchased them for buyclematisdirect.com which I can't even find a webpage for. I just have the emailed invoice from them when I purchased.

Wow . I would definitely pitch them if they have never bloomed in 8 years ! Oh my goodness are you patient .

I have no advice except just replace . :)

I don't have any explanation either. In all my years of growing clematis - and a lot of 'em - I have never had one that didn't bloom. At least after the initial establishment period. And 5 years is at the extreme far end of the period typically considered to be properly established.

If it doesn't bloom this season, I'd get rid of it.

How/when do you prune it......if you do?

I found their website. It's down for maintenance, anc will be back soon. I can't find many reviews. Though it was recommended, and I got some, I hope they do well. Keep us updated.

No matter what it is (clematis wise), it should have flowered in this time period in a suitable environment (is it in a suitable environment with enough sun?) and if not pruned improperly cutting off incipient flowers?
